About the robot
What CoolNCampBot does
When a campsite joins CoolNCamp, our team can import its public website to prefill its space: description, contact details, photos, services and activities. CoolNCampBot is the robot that reads that website.
On demand only
It only runs when a CoolNCamp team member starts an import for a given campsite. There is no continuous crawling.
Public pages, read only
GET requests on public pages, about 60 pages and their photos per import. It never submits a form, never logs in and never adds anything to a cart.
Follows robots.txt
The group that names CoolNCampBot, otherwise the * group, Crawl-delay included.
A gentle pace
At most two requests at a time, so a campsite website is never overloaded.
How to recognise it
- User agent
CoolNCampBot/1.0 (+https://bo.test.coolncamp.com/bot)
Its requests are signed with HTTP message signatures (Web Bot Auth). The public key is published in its key directory.
How to block it
Add these lines to the robots.txt file of your website:
User-agent: CoolNCampBot
Disallow: /How to allow it
Your website blocks CoolNCampBot and you would like us to import its content? Depending on what protects it:
In robots.txt
If it disallows all robots (User-agent: * then Disallow: /), add this group: CoolNCampBot follows the group that names it.
User-agent: CoolNCampBot Allow: /On Cloudflare
CoolNCampBot is a Cloudflare verified bot. If one of your security rules blocks it, create a custom rule (Security › Security rules › Create rule › Custom rules) with this expression and the Skip action, then move it to the top of the list:
(cf.client.bot and http.user_agent contains "CoolNCampBot")Under Skip, tick All remaining custom rules, All Super Bot Fight Mode rules, All rate limiting rules and Security Level. cf.client.bot only lets the genuine CoolNCampBot through, not a robot borrowing its name.
Another firewall
Hosting provider, Wordfence, Sucuri…: allow the CoolNCampBot user agent. It has no published IP address: allow it by its name, not by an IP list.
